That awkward moment in book writing
The moment where you realize your book has outgrown its title
Hi everyone!
Had a “proud book parent” moment this week! While working my way through the first round of edits, it was called to my attention that my book title no longer seemed to really match its contents.
Since I didn’t intend to write a book totally focused on food references, this is no surprise. However, rather than change the entire book so that it squished into the title’s intention, I let my book be its wonderful self and just changed the title!
It took some serious brainstorming
Since the original title was effectively useless, it made the most sense to just start from scratch. Some of the runners-up were:
Freelancer Foodie
The Struggling Freelancer
Food-Studded Freelancer
Noteworthy, but just not right. The one I settled on was The Starving Freelancer. I let it percolate for a few days and I really like it! I’ll update this newsletter’s information before the next post.
I’m still working on the subtitle and I’ll probably have a few suggestions to share with you all a little later on in the process. If I can make it easy enough, I may even make a poll for everyone to vote on their favourite one!
So what do you think? Let me know!
The new title is Great! I'm looking forward to reading your book. :)
