Hi guys!
It’s time for an update. The book release is going well and I’ve received my first positive review, which is very exciting!
If any of you have purchased the book and have read it, please consider taking a moment to leave a short review to let me/the world know about your experience. You can do that by going to the book’s page on either Amazon.com or Amazon.ca (depending on how you purchased your book).
I’ve heard that some are unable to leave reviews on Amazon, so those who would still like to leave a review can do so by going to Goodreads!
Is leaving a review required if I read the book?
Nope! You can either leave a review or not, it’s totally up to you. Leaving an honest review is very helpful, though. It really helps let other potential readers know if they should take the time to try the book out!
If you want a compromise, you can also consider simply rating the book. That helps, too!
Some cool things that have happened so far
Okay, enough about reviews.
There have been a few really cool things that have happened since the release date that I wanted to share with you all. Take a look:
People are buying my book
Why this suprises me: Even though I focused on writing a cool, helpful book, there’s always that moment of uncertainty about whether anyone is actually going to, you know, read it. After all, there are a gazillion books out there, so who’s going to possibly notice mine? My book sales have confirmed that a few people are, in fact, interested enough to at least buy it! Woohoo!
A random stranger messaged me to let me know they bought my book
Why this is cool and not creepy: I assume most book purchasers are subscribers, friends, family, etc., so far. So, to have an internet stranger take the time to check my book out, purchase it, and then let me know that they did, is SUPER cool!
Someone bought my book based on the “Look Inside” feature
Why this matters: I spent a lot of time writing and changing what I put in the preface of my book. This is what would make or lose a sale and I wanted to ensure that it was an accurate representation of the book’s content. It totally made my day when someone let me know that the sample of my book is what convinced them to buy it!
More updates to come!
I’m getting reading to order myself some TSF swag, so I’ll share updates when I get it! I have designed a few more products and put them up on the official The Starving Freelancer shop, in case anyone is curious!
Stay tuned for more updates!
Sales are coming in, like the kindling of a fire, on Kindle (good pun, eh?). The fire will build and grow, as word spreads and more people see your book's listing. Expect good results!
